Announcement by POSPERT – ERT Journalists: Time for end credits at the «big mistake» of June the 11th

The employees of ERT insist that the dialogue about the present and future of public radio-television demands two parties. Otherwise, unfortunately, it becomes a communicative monologue, limited to the impressions and the fragmentary plannings about the country’s public radio-television broadcaster and the lives of 2,650 people and their families.

One-dimensional interviews on radio and television may be useful for the government’s communicative strategy, but they do not contribute positively to finding a solution.

We repeat in all tones, what the employees of ERT have publicly and categorically put forward, that they do not impede any delivery and collection procedure, or the data about the length of service etc. concerning the ERT colleagues, at the ERT Building at Agia Paraskevi and anywhere else.

We remind Mr. Kapsis and special manager Gikas Manalis that ERT is not a technological equipment and machine maintenance warehouse.

It produces a radio-television programme, internet work and is obliged by the Constitution and the Amsterdam Treaty to have culture, information, sport and entertainment activities.

We clearly underline that we are not going to “seal” radio and television studios and plateaus and consent in “black” on all public frequencies, not even for one minute.

We insist that the dialogue needs to be continued and we call anew the Deputy Minister of Public Radio-Television to prove, as he has been claiming since the moment he took on the Public Radio-Television portfolio, that the employees of ERT are part of the solution.

According to the proverb: “NO-ONE IS FREE OF SIN”.

It is time for end credits at the “big mistake” of June the 11th.
