Police entered the National Polytechnic University premises in Athens early this morning, for reasons yet undisclosed. Five people were detained during the operation, which stands out as the first time the police intrude into the Institute's premises without any apparent provocation or disturbance. Spokesman for the government Simos Kedikoglou stated that the police operation has taken place within the context of law implementation all over the country. Police sources mentioned that several iron rods and a container full of inflammable liquid have been found.
