The film will be screened at the ERT courtyard on Tuesday 27-8, during a presentation in which Dimitris Koutsiambassakos himself will participate.
After the screening, a discussion will follow, with his participation.
The itinerant greengrocer Nikos Anastassiou with his wife Sofia, cover the same route since the 1980’s, every week throughout the year! For the last two years, their two children, Kostas and Thymios have been helping with the itinerary. Starting from Trikala, Nikos and his family visit the abandoned villages of southwestern Pindos, in a 75 kilometer itinerary. The film follows their route during the four seasons of the year.
This family are not just greengrocery merchants, but mainly the only steady communication of their residents with civilisation and the outer world. A different “give and take”, that triggered the idea for the documentary. The director saw that “what happens with the greengrocer and the residents of Pindos is not just a transaction, but essentially a human communication action”...
Tender, discrete, charming and deeply human, the film is a “soul presentation” by the director.
“It is a really enjoyable lesson of life” “a constant present”, director Dimitris Koutsiambassiakos notes.
It has been awarded the audience prize for a Greek movie of 45 minutes or more, at the 15th Documentary Festival of Salonika.
Its screening will continue starting September in theatres...
