Prime Minister Antonis Samaras appears uncompromising on the issue of ERT, in article published in Kathimerini

In his article Mr. Samaras says that nobody respected the National Broadcaster for years and speaks of a recital of hypocrisy on the part of those who want it open, while noting that, with the judicial inquiry ordered by the District Attorney all will 'soon be informed on all those things thoroughly hidden for decades. And then the masks will fall and it will be proved why suddenly there is so much noise regarding the sinful ERT.

The Prime Minister added: "Obviously we have no dispute with the employees of ERT. It is not them which are our problem. Besides, many of them will be hired again, yet, on merit criteria this time. And thay will all be generously compensated. The problem are the 'circuits' that paracited the  public broadcaster without actually serving it. And they did it in the most arrogant way. He reiterates the need to create a modern sound broadcasting organization, public and not party controlled, while adding that the problem is not ERT, but to advance the reforms, so it needs the support of the Greek people. That "the problem is not ERT or public information "and goes on to say that in order to proceed with the reforms, it is essential that the Greek people support them. And in order to have this support, we will have to prove to the people that we dare to mess with the most glaring strongholds of opacity and waste", she says.
