The sharp rise of the 10 year bond to 8.4% reveals market skepticism towards the financial policy of the Greek coalition government. The inability and unwillingness of the financial authorities under constant pressure by the Troika , amid political fluidity as well as obvious intra-governmental tensions, to procure an acceptable draft for the 2015 budget which is due to be brought to Parliament by Friday, have created an explosive background and have caused the spreads to climb once again.
Head Attorney Ilias Zagoreos has demanded an investigation into an incident following the demonstration for the 1973 student uprising on November 17, during which a kiosk owner at Exarheia was beaten by riot police who took water from his kiosk without paying.
The representative of the police commented that “the kiosk owner should have been arrested”.
Five out of seven demonstrators arrested during police repression after the march of November 17 are charged with felony.
In the communication issued by Rector of the Kapodistrian University of Athens on the 41st anniversary of the 1973 student uprising against the military junta, it is suggested that individual schools of the university should conduct periodic electronic referenda in order to allow everyone involved to vote directly as to the interruption of classes whenever this is proposed.
Student unions reacted immediately with an occupation of the deanery of Health Sciences, protesting for what they see as total disregard for decisions of the general assemblies of students and a direct threat to the very existence of student unions themselves, as through electronic referenda, they will practically be excluded from decision making procedures in the university.
According to a report on Bloomerg cases of corruption and tax evasion in sales contracts of armaments and military equipment to Greece during the past 17 years are been investigated by Munich prosecutors.
Deputy Finance Minister Giorgos Mavraganis announced in Parliament that 99.4 million euros to the moment are taxes owed by off shore companies currently active in Greece, without however saying how much has been collected. According to Mr. Mavraganis 251 out of 735 off shore companies have been audited.
He also pointed out the lack of specialized personnel in tax inspection services as well as the necessity of improvement of tax legislation.
In the meantime president of LA.OS party Giorgos Karatzaferis should be indicted to the Prosecutor and the Court of Auditors by the findings of accountants investigating his financial affairs for three felonies : money laundering, false assets statement and violation of the law for off shore companies.
”We will not justify and will not allow any Bank, no Municipality or other sate vector to arrogate and usurp our property”, declared the representative of Movement against Auctions, in a demonstration outside the county court of Pireaus.

In Spain the Parliament has approved a resolution calling upon the Spanish government to recognize the Palestinian State.
The resolution which is supported by all parliamentary parties notes that the recognition of Palestine should be the outcome of negotiations between both sides, while the government is urged to coordinate its actions with the EU.
In Italy the two largest trade unions Cgil and Uil have proclaimed a strike for the 12h of December against austerity policies of the Renzi government.
