Private companies will be controlling the necessity of medical actions, states A. Georgiades
The State is orientating towards assigning private companies to control the necessity of the operations and the right treatment that patients receive in public hospitals, mentioned the Minister of Health this morning, speaking on Mega (a privately owned tv channel). Adonis Georgiades said that the control will take place according to the standards of the private insurance companies, which control first and then compensate the insured.
In the same interview, he assured that there will be no lay-offs in the Health sector, since, as he said, “there are big voids”. He also announced that, in the first phase of “mobility”, 1,250 employees will leave, with the exception of doctors.
Mr. Georgiades underlined that, those who will go into “mobility” status will not have to wait for 8 months for their new placement. He also committed himself that every employee’s “repositioning” will be within the same health region.
He also made clear that there will be no “surprises” and, after having visited, as he said, all parts involved, he will have a meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis within the week, in order to have full communication.
