In the DISY ("Democratic Alert") party, they are annoyed by RIK’s (Cypriot Public Radio-Television) support to ERT-Plan to exclude RIK from the digital era
The stirring support of Cyprus to the fight of ERT employees was conveyed through NET (one of ERT channels) by journalist A. Hristakaki, who was on the island a few days ago. As she transmitted, in an event, the first to convey the message of solidarity were Turkish-Cypriot professors and teachers, saying “hold on strongly, because you are our only hope”. But the journalist also conveyed the intense concern expressed, while speaking in the same event, also by the president of RIK Mr. Simeou, considering that what happened to ERT can very soon happen to RIK as well. According to our colleague, also in Cyprus there is an effort underway to exclude RIK from the digital era. The concern arises also from the fact that recently, there have been strong protestations from the government party DISY’s side about the support expressed to ERT by RIK. In fact, Mr. Prodromoy, a DISY member of the parliament said, adopting A. Samaras’s argumentation, that RIK cannot be supporting the fight of ERT employees, who are "drones" (lazy individuals who want to gain without working).
