Greek Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras remains uncompromising regarding the lock down of ERT

The Greek Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras stated, in his speech at the convention of ONNED, that he sticks with his decision for the abolition of the national broadcaster and the layoff of 2656 workers. Αddressing PASOK and DIMAR he suggested the formation of a committee which will proceed with few hirings, so that there will be immediate transmission of informative programs via the new broadcaster, suggesting also that the relative Bill will be passed the following week. In fact, he asked the government partners for responsibility.

Characterizing ERT as a “sinful” and also a “union of those ensconced”, he stressed out his determination to proceed with his initial decision because "without such major reforms the country will sink."

At the same time he said that the government does not unleash insults against the workers, nor moves vindictively against them.

Also addressing to government partners he suggested that:

"The special trustee to imnmediately appoint a temporary committee of broad acceptance among the political parties, to recruit a small number of workers, to immediately begin transmitting the informative program for public television. A Bill has already been submitted by the Government to the Parliament, establishing a new public television. This bill may be voted on immediately next week. I am expecting a responsible stance of the political leaders, in order for our co-operation to proceed seamlessly, as well as to ensure the positive course  of the economy and avoid any further adventures for our people.”
